BMGC partnered with the Eradicate Racism Collaborative and met with the Dayton mayor and city commissioners and a team of dedicated community leaders to discuss the impact of racism on public health.
The city and county voted the next week to declare racism a public health crisis.
Health inequity may not be the status quo in our communities for much longer. Initiatives like this are happening all over the country at the local level - we have drafted a letter template to educate public officials about the impact of racism on health. Video of the conversation can be found here
BMGC partnered with Seeding Galveston to create a podcast sharing the work of community garden projects in Galveston. The podcast was the first step in a longterm collaboration with local community gardens!
